A Birds Eye View!

While reading some movie reviews this afternoon. I was struck by the title of this one; “God Grew Tired Of Us”. It made me wonder how God views our pride, wastefulness, complaining, and our lack of true compassion. I think I know already!

Shake-N-Bake! "And I Helped"

At our house dinner, “supper,” for all of our Southern friends, Has become very repetitive. This isn’t a disapproval of Michelle’s cooking, as we share this responsibility. It is more a matter of simplicity, and convenience. Do you ever get tired of having the same items for dinner every week?

MENU

Spaghetti
Chicken
Hamburgers
Salmon
Pork chops
Corn
Green Beans (cassarole when Country Mouse comes over)

Why Is It…

Mid afternoon I enjoyed a conversation with a couple I knew from my previous life.
Great people, great conversation, then why is it, when they left my office, I felt very very sad?

How To Help A Hurting Friend

My past has afforded me many opportunities to watch others respond to people facing devastating situations. Although I am not an expert, I have seen these responses bring wholeness, and at other times, great guilt, and pain. Remember, there is no Hallmark moment, no instant cure. Here’s a few actions I have seen ease the hurt…

1. Sit quietly with them. They don’t expect you to have all the answers.
2. Hold their hand.
3. Make their family a meal.
4. Run a needed errand.
5 Pray silently.

The biggest mistake I see is people try to hard, thinking they have to say the perfect thing. Most of the time, the fewer words spoken, the better.

5 of the Loneliest Times In Life

5 of the loneliest times in life…

1. Getting off the plane, and there’s no one to welcome you home.
2. Reading your fathers tombstone.
3. Saying good bye to your dream.
4. When your dog dies.
5. The very moment you realize your marriage won’t survive.
