Working people frequently ask ‘retired people’ what they do to make their days interesting. Well, for example, the other day I went downtown and went into a shop. I was only in there for about 5 minutes and when I came out there was a cop writing out a parking ticket. I went up to him and said, “Come on, man, how about giving a retired person a break”? He ignored me and continued writing the ticket.
I called him a “Nazi.” He glared at me and started writing another ticket for having worn tires. So I called him a “doughnut eating Gestapo.” He finished the second ticket and put it on the windshield with the first. Then he started writing a third ticket. This went on for about 20 minutes. The more I abused him, the more tickets he wrote.
Personally, I didn’t care. I came downtown on the bus and the car that he was putting the tickets on had a bumper sticker that said “Hillary in ‘08″. I try to have a little fun each day now that I’m retired. It’s important to my health.

Here’s an exerpt…
In a recent report titled “Men in Grocery Stores,” Putnam said that men shop inefficiently, which leads to missed sales for retailers.
Many men have difficulty finding items, forego buying rather than risk purchasing a substitute for an item on the grocery list and hesitate to ask for help if they can’t find an item, Putnam said in her report.

I ran across this headline; “Whales Nowhere To Be Found” I was a paragraph into the story before I realized it wasn’t about Rosie O’Donnell leaving the “View”.

I just returned from Jackass flats. I rode down to check out the motorcycles, people watch, and smoke cigars. The temperature was in the 90’s and I missed the scattered thunderstorms which were predicted. I saw some pretty impressive things. Nice ride!

After all the prom pictures were taken, I jumped on my motorcycle and rode for an hour or so just to clear my head from a long week. I headed to the countryside away from everything. The sun was begining to set and casting a beautiful glow on all the fields, trees, making even the mundane radiate with beauty. After riding about twenty minutes I realized I was finally breathing again, it seems for the first time all week.

How many people live in your home?
How many of them take showers?
Need I say more?

Barbara Ehrenreich has a great article entitled “CEO vs Slaves”
Mark Cuban on the future of music…
Our ability to consume music has gotten incredibly easy over the past 25 years. From the walkman to the CD Walkman to the IPod, we have ditched the album (to the chagrin of milk crate manufacturers everywhere) and evolved to the point where an 80gb IPod has the capacity to carry every song we might imagine listening to over the course of our lifetime. So easy that it revived Apple and catapulted the company from an innovative niche PC marketer to a technology leader. So easy that we consume more music than ever before, yet total sales are in a tailspin.
