Counting My Blessings!

The planets aligned this weekend!  I had an open schedule on Sunday, so I anxiously viewed the forecast in the hope Sunday’s weather would cooperate enough to allow for a ride.  When the weatherman declared the temperatures were to be above normal and the road conditions dry, I was elated.  About 1:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon, layered in my winter gear, I headed out for a leisurely ride headed no where in particular.  Within a half an hour, I found myself at one of my favorite places; “Estelle’s Leather Shop”.  Estelle’s is a small store with a wide selection of leather gear,  from vests to skirts, to holsters, and halters. Patches, and pins, helmets, belts, and plenty more.  You probably have a shop similar to this one in your area.  After wondering around the shop for a while, it was time to get back on the road.  I left Estelle’s heading south, until I came upon a county road complete with  hills and twisties.  From there I wondered the back roads not certain of my exact location, and not really caring.  Finally, I crossed a familiar road and headed toward the house.  By this time my finger tips, and feet, were beginning to make me aware they were ready for some warmth, so I stopped at a little  cafe for coffee and a sandwich with all the trimmings.  Twenty minutes later I was back on the road just as the afternoon sun  began to fade, and the temperatures started their downward descent.   As my short adventure was coming to an end, I was grateful for the chance to ride, to be outdoors, and to return home safely.

I am extremely jealous! My butt hasn’t seen the saddle since the end of November. Way too much snow and sub-zero weather this winter. I’m counting down the days until spring.

Fortunately for us, I have been able to ride at least three or 4 times a month this winter.

Yay! Good for you. Just getting out for that little while can change your attitude. You have to take those small windows of opportunity and enjoy the heck out of them. We’re having snow so no riding for me.

Ya know one of the GOOD thing about Winter is it makes you appreciate riding so much more on those weekends when you actually get a chance to put some miles on the bike.
