Questioned
Favorite brand of bike? Depends on what type of riding.
Favorite color of bike? No doubt, black!
Do you always wear a helmet? Almost always!
Most miles ridden in a day? 725, though I prefer around 420.
Do you belong to a riding club? No! I’m the lone wolf, remember?
How many bikes do you currently own? Only 1, I just sold my Shadow Aero.
Do you wave at passing bikers? Most of the time I do, but I hate when I get dissed.
How many brand t-shirts do you own? None! I don’t like the walking bill board guys, Although I have a BMW ball cap, and some KTRSD shirts. But mostly I am too cheap to purchase them.
Do people think you are obsessed with motorcycles? Only my wife!
What is your favorite type of riding? Touring w/o question. I love to travel. I find little enjoyment riding around town.
Do you have any riding superstitions? Not really superstitions, but I do like to smoke cigars when I ride.

I’m looking at a new sport tourer in a month or two. How has life with the R bike been for maintenance issues and costs? Most of my knowledge of them is based on police bikes. The departments seem to be having a lot of expensive problems. Of course, they’re being ridden by cops!
Rick, I really like these questions. I think all of us motobloggers should copy and paste it, and then answer them as a post on our own blogs to share a little more about ourselves.
What do you think?
Do you mind?
irondad: Once I got used to the quirks of the BMW I have enjoyed it greatly. I have had no problems with it to date. Recently I traveled 3200 miles on it and fell in love. I use Mobile One synthetic oil, and changed the tires to Continental Attack’s. I am very glad I chose this one!
Mr. Motorcycle: I think it would be great for anyone who desires to use them to do so! I will check your site to see how you answer them!
1. Harley-Davidson, of course. Nobody else has had 105 years to get it perfect and keep it that way.
2. No favorite. Different colors look better on certain bikes - it depends on the bike.
3. Always.
4. Only about 170 or so.
5. Proud member of Blackstone Valley HOG.
6. One, and it’s all I can do to afford that.
7. Usually, if riding conditions permit a safe wave.
8. I love biker tees, but I only have one with the Bar & Shield on it. My favorite one says, “Are We Going To Ride, or Are We Going To Dick Around All Day?”
9. My whole family believes so, and they are correct.
10. I love riding anywhere my Chapter goes. I love riding with my friends from the Chapter on our own little rides that aren’t on the ride calendar. I look forward to touring soon, when I get my new bike.
11. All great rides for me end up with good food and drink at the end for myself and my friends to enjoy. Pretty ladies among those friends have become something of a tradition. Superstitions? Men riding bitch is all I can think of.
Rick, I’m going to do what Mr. Motorcycle is doing.
Joker: Great list!
Earl Thomas: I will be certain to check it out.
Thanks, Rick!
I’ll link to your site.
Great Fun Rick! Posted it at our club forum. I altered the subject matter a tad.

Favorite brand of bike? Harley Davidson
Favorite color of bike? Black and Chrome, with some subtle custom paint.
Do you always wear a helmet? No, never. Don’t like the lack of vision, sound, or if going to a half helmet, the wind drag they give my melon. I don’t have a windshield, seatbelt or airbags on my motorcycle either. Shame on me but I don’t wear my seatbelt in a car either. I guess I figure in a car that a cage with airbags is safer that riding a motorcycle with or without a helmet.

Do you belong to a riding club? No, but I have several small groups of riders made up of friends I can ride with.
How many bikes do you currently own? Just one. I’ve never owned more than one at a time. This is my fourth, if you want to count my moped I had when I was 15 years old.
Do you wave at passing bikers? Most always, and to all kinds. I’m not biker predjudice, even though I prefer Harleys.
How many brand t-shirts do you own? Ten or so, but most are now grey Harley shirts that were once black. I only wear a couple in public.
Do people think you are obsessed with motorcycles? Yep, and damn proud of it. It is part of who I am.
What is your favorite type of riding? No preference, as long as I am riding. That is all that matters. I just love to ride.
Do you have any riding superstitions? Nope. Funny thing though, Lucky http://pizzacrusade.blogspot.com/2008/03/superstitious-bikers.html posted about superstitions, and I commented as follows:
Mr. Motorcycle said…
I’m not supersticious, except for that “knock on wood” thing. Don’t know if I really believe in it all, but started doin it as a teenager and my wife does it now too. I think we do it out of habbit now more so than belief that it will actually do anything.I once had one of those bells on my bike. A friend gave it to me after I laid my bike down. Said I needed the good luck it would bring. It lasted about three rides before I ripped the damn thing off and chucked it into the woods. It drove me nuts. I haven’t laid the bike down since.***You can’t see me right now, but I’m Knocking On Wood.*** L.O.L.
Great questions Rick.
