The Indian Chief

Seriously, who among us hasn’t enjoyed the rich styling and design of the Indian Chief? Growing up it was one of my favorite bikes to look at, always a feast for the eyes.  Here’s my question; with the recent release of photos and specifications for the new Indian Chief, will anyone really pay $30,000-$36,000 for one?

They are beautiful. A wee bit out of my price range, however.

I have always loved the Indian. Glad to see that they’re trying to make another comeback.

It’s out of my price range for a motorcycle. I think the majority of buyers will be the older baby-boomers who remeber the Indians of years ago and have more disposable income. That’s a pretty limited market and I fear that they may shut down again after a few years.

Overpricing because of the brand name. I would buy one, but not for $36k. They will sell out for the first year or two, but then the price has to come down. If it doesn’t, they’ll go under again.

It is a beautiful bike, but you would think the manufacturers would realize it may be over priced? Maybe it’s just me?

What are you getting for those “extra” 10s of thousands? Its nice but seems to lack some of the character its predecessors had, IMO. It seems a little too refined looking, maybe? You aren’t getting the most technologically advanced bike, you’re buying a lifestyle or an image. Many people are easily swayed by that. I agree with Micah, that they will sell initially and then the hype will die and so will the brand… again.

Looks nice and comfy, not sure I would want to own one. But would like to see it in person.
