Ohio is a “conceal carry” state. I am scheduled to take the required course shortly and will be packing, my son has already completed it and carries a 40 caliber. Any of you ever pack heat while on a trip?

Nope, never felt the need to. Most non biker folks don’t want anything to do with most biker folks unless. It’s that intimidation thing.
The flip side is most bikers are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
Call me naive, but I’ve just never felt the need.
Besides, I’d probably shoot someone for pissing me off, not because they actually had a REAL reason to get shot.
Either that or I’d shoot myself by mistake.
I would personally never carry a gun. The most I keep on me is a fixed blade, but that is on longer rides. More of a camping or cutting tool than anything else.
Not that I would ever admit to.
I fully support the right of the people to bear arms though. It’s the 2nd Amendment baby.
Thomas Jefferson:”No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
It is almost impossible to get a carry permit in California or especially my county in California. I don’t think I would anyway as I don’t seem to get into situations where I feel I need a concealed weapon. It would be nice to be able to though. I know of riders carrying but they are firemen, police, and other public service people.
All the time. Leftover from the cop days, I guess. I have a permit from Oregon and Utah both. Utah’s permit is honored is something like 20 other states.
The only heat I carry is the Oxford heated Grips for winter riding.
No need for it over here in Australia.
