I Wish I Could Be Like Those Guys
I wish I could be like those guys! In fact, I have attempted to be like those guys. You know, the guys who never wash their rides, the guys who don’t need to brag about their latest trip because the proof of their adventures are told in the eclectic mixture of road grime, bugs, and dirt, found on their exhaust, gas tanks, and windshields. I wish I could be like those guys. I would love to write more, but I need to get outside and wash the RT.
Yeah, I don’t wash that often. It just eats up valuable road time.
And I don’t add lots of chrome because then I’d have to polish more. Chrome doesn’t get ya home.
My bike is pretty new so I have to admit, I do wash it pretty regular. It does have more chrome on it than I wanted, ahh the sacrifice. I have to polish that too. I do look for the easiest way to get it done though. Spray wax’s, good liquid wash etc. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to just let it go.
Wash Pearl often enough. We’d both rather be riding. Just try to keep the bug goo off her so she can still sparkle. But we both know - it’s all about the ride.
The bike gets a hose down…once a month or so during the riding season. During the hosing, I will attempt to de-bug or at least loosen the really annoying ones. The only reason I wash that often? The oil and fuel that blows out from my carb…drenching my air filter…the air filter needs to be cleaned…might as well pretend to wash the bike at the same time!
