Riding Like A Harley Davidson Dude!

bike-night-at-legends-2009-022.JPG

My riding season is about to hit 6th gear!  Throughout the month of May I have been working on several projects around the house and this has left little time to ride.

  • Trees trimmed
  • Shed painted
  • Garage painted
  • Driveways sealed
  • New fencing
  • Concrete repair

Oh, that’s not to say say I haven’t been on the RT, I just haven’t been on her much!  I guess you could say I have been riding like a Harley dude, you know; from the bar, to the Union club, to another bar, to the garage.  But now that most of my projects are completed, and the contractors all lined up, I will  be able to hit the road, BMW style.

June’s riding schedule, will include the Saddle Sore 1000, A full day at the AMA Museum on June 6th, and a quick trip to Pittsburgh.  Just to name a few.  I will be adding approximately 2000 miles to the RT’s odometer in June.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I realize “miles don’t make the rider”, and I really do like Harley guys, they definitely know how to look good.   I just don’t want to ride like them! ;)

Hey - I’m a Harley Gal and I don’t ride like that! One of my dearest friends logs more than 20K miles on his bike every year and he’s a Harley Guy through and through. I’ve averaged about 10k a year on Pearl and notching that up now that she takes me to work most days.

Maybe the Harley Guys and Gals like the social aspect of motorcycling just as much as the riding part.

Sounds like you’ve got a fantastic month of riding coming up - ktrsd and have fun.

Hey Slark…oh my I think you started a s#%t storm now! I’m laughin my ass off over those comments!
Slark, you and I will see each other on the road soon I’m sure…it’s like what Swag said…”This weather is the reason I own a motorcycle”… and it is… I’ll even “wave” at ya as you go by in the other direction! HA! Or nod at ya if ya pass me from behind!

Let’s just ride…all you readers out there…I ride a Harley…and I’m not offended by his statement…I’m amused…it’s kindly ribbing…not an expression of how you personally ride! Just RIDE!

    Rick, your Harley-envy is showing.

While it’s true that you log a lot more miles than me, I have friends that are Harley-hardcores that will log 25-50M miles per year.

    By the way…
I did NO housework this weekend. I was out riding my Harley! :)

Nothing personal — just ribbin back. It doesn’t matter what we ride - just that we ride and ride and ride…

You have a point, I need to ride my Harley more. To do that though, someone is going to have no come up with a name for the eighth day as I am already riding 7 days a week.

Holler if ya get stranded, I’ve gotten really good at hauling BMW’s in the back of my pickup :)

    -Peace

I think the biggest problem here is that there are so many Harley owners out there that the small percentage who use them to adorn their driveway while they polish the chrome is stil more people than the total number who ride some other brands of bike. Hey, when you’ve got volumes, each subset is bound to attract attention!
