Those are some nice people willing to help ensure those swans, geese and ducks don’t starve. As you know (and sometimes point out), I was raised long before you were born. I can remember a time when it was fairly uncommon to see Canada Geese, unless they were migrating. Local waterfowl hunters wanted to have more opportunity to bag them so the State tried an experimental ‘captive’ goose program. Several Canada Geese were kept on site, wings clipped and unable to migrate, so a local population was founded. The problem with this was their young never learned to migrate, so we’ve become overrun with their offspring. Obviously, this occurred all over Ohio and some surrounding states. The result is, local hunters have plenty of geese to harvest, but they never leave and have few natural enemies. I love the swans and ducks, but there are just too many of these geese. I’m still happy people are willing to shell out their hard earned money to feed ’shelled’ corn to our fowl.

They gona’ need a few more sacks of feed.

Hope you got your bike out of there before they all flew off. That could be ugly!

It was the first time I had seen these folks, but their van was loaded down with bags of feed.
