Hot Rods and Harleys

This afternoon I spent the day at “Hot Rods and Harleys” in downtown Springfield.  The annual bike and hot rod show is sponsored by Mid-Ohio Harley Davidson and was a great way to spend a late summer day.  I enjoyed seeing old friends,  listening to the live bands, eating, and basically just hanging out.  Click here to see a few photos of the day.

Another KTRSD Bike Night has come and gone, and although the weather wasn’t perfect we had a great time.  There was a nice mix of motorcycles, great food, and Darren did a super job with the music.  Thanks for coming!  Let’s do it a gain next week!

3 Ways to Enjoy Jackass Flats

Wednesday Jackass Flats kicked off their 2009 “Bike Night” in a huge way!  An anticipated a crowd of 6,000 showed up to enjoy music, food, bikes, beer, and perfect weather.  If you have never been to this bar you need to come at least once. Here’s 3 tips to make it more enjoyable.

1.  Come early!

Arriving at 4:30 p.m. will allow you a good parking spot on the black top.  This will be a great vantage point to watch all the bikes roll in a little later in the evening.

Coming early also allows you to sit down in the bar for dinner.  The pizza is great!

2.  Sight See!

By the time you have finished dinner, the once barren parking lot will be filled with bikes and the large field will be filling up fast.  Walk around and check out the bikes and vendors.

3.  Go back to your bike.

By this time the band is playing, and the bikes are pouring in the front gate.   You don’t want to miss this!  Go back to your bike, relax and enjoy the show!

If you decide to stop by Jackass Flats, let me know and perhaps we can meet up.

Keep the rubber side down!

“Bike Night” In The Book

The first Bike Night is in the books.  With severe thunderstorms lingering until late afternoon we weren’t certain the inaugural B/N would go on, but the skies cleared and it turned out to be a beautiful evening. There was plenty of great food, fabulous music, good friends, hot bar maids, and even some motorcycles.  The party was still going when I rolled out around 10:30 p.m. Just ask a guy named “Jerry”, although I am not certain he will remember!  ;)

Bike Night Season Begins!

Although most of us have been riding for several weeks, the official motorcycle season kicks off with the opening of “Bike Nights”  held all around the country.  Some are large, others small, but all them have their place. Bike Nights are an exciting part of the biker experience; good food, awesome bikes, a good cigar, assholes who think they are studs, and of course, the beautiful women. It just doesn’t get any better than that!

Beginning tomorrow evening KTRSD is sponsoring a Bike Night at Legends Pub, along with some assistance from my friends at Competition Accessories.  It has been a delight putting this event together, and even though we will begin small, I look forward to the challenge of making it an exciting event.  If you are in the area on a Thursday night be sure to stop in and say hello!
