The Garage: There’s No Place Like Home.
Written by rick on May 4, 2008 – 9:17 am -I have spent the past few evenings in my garage fitting my bike for the trip.
- seating adjustments
- suspension adjustments
- adding extensions for the tank bag.
- placing my sheepskin seat cover on (sweet!)
- oil change
- other misc.
While tinkering around in there I have enjoyed a couple bottles of Foster’s, and a pleasant cigar or two, the company of my sons, and a couple buddies. Not bad!

Have A Great Sunday
Written by rick on March 4, 2008 – 7:58 am -Temperature: 9 degrees
Wind: From the North @ 35 Miles per hour
Snow: 15″
With a level 3 Snow Emergency in place for Clark County almost everything is shut down. The Miami Valley normally recieves 1-3 inches of snow, but this weekend we were hammered with 15 inches of the devils powder. Oh well, we have plenty of food, coffee, firewood, and cigars. Have a good Sunday!

Definitions of Biker Terms
Written by rick on January 4, 2008 – 7:47 am -Good Sunday morning to all of you! In Springfield, the wind chill is nearing 15 below zero. But don’t feel sorry for me. I have a roaring fire in the fireplace, a pot of strong black coffee brewing, my morning paper, and a great Oliva cigar! I will be just fine. Every Sunday in the month of January we are doing a feature entitled; ”Definitions of Biker Terms”, here’s this weeks term…
Squiddy: Literally a “suicidal kid”. A young motorcyclist with little or no riding experience riding a sport bike with a lot of horsepower. A squiddy is characterized by wildly weaving in and out of traffic and doing stunts on public roads (wheelies, stoppies, etc.) Often seen wearing a colorful full face helmet, tank top, shorts and flip flops. Approach with caution … squiddies are unable to distinguish between reality and their video game inspired Biker Boyz fantasies.

Good Morning!
Written by rick on December 4, 2007 – 11:53 pm -Good Monday morning, if there is such a thing! I know some of you have spent the weekend digging yourselves out from the first measurable snowfall of the year. While others have been sipping drinks on the beach! I spent the weekend doing chores around the house in preparation for winter. I also made time for the motorcycles, and a cigar, OK, two cigars! Be safe today!

Contentment For Now!
Written by rick on November 4, 2007 – 10:25 pm -The air was cool and crisp, as the sun was beginning to set below the cityscape. It had been a good day! I had taken some time off from work, and lazily piddled away the hours, catching up on some small duties in the yard, and around the house. The morning had started bright and early, with a trip to McDonald’s for a coffee and a cinnamon roll, and now at dusk, I find myself satisfied, yet, a little weary, sitting around a small campfire, with Dakota at my feet, and a hot cup of black coffee in my hand, listening to; Dylan, Seegar, Mozart, and even Rascal Flatts. I light my cigar, and now, I am content!

She Will Never Know
Written by rick on October 4, 2007 – 9:45 pm -
Not a great deal happening outside the normal routine. No real drama. Not that I am complaining, I prefer it this way. Tonight I plan to spend a quiet evening at home, have a nice meal and simply hangout. Michelle will be gone, so I may pull out a big cigar and grab my newest biker magazine, and waste a couple hours. She will never know!

Lazy Rick
Written by rick on October 4, 2007 – 11:39 pm -I spent the morning in the office trying to close a deal. With the mission accomplished, I left for the day. The weather was beautiful, so I cut grass, took a short bike ride, then returned home to spend a lazy afternoon on the porch with my new issue of “Rider” magazine, a good cigar, and some Amber Bock. By the time everyone arrived home at 6 p.m. dinner was ready, complete with brownies for a late night snack.
