Can Harley Survive?
Many are questioning whether Harley Davidson will be able to survive this recent economic down turn. If they can’t, I wonder if there will be a bailout of the tattoo, and black leather, industry!

Rumor has it that newly patented drawings of a Harley Davidson Tri-Glide are now circulating! What do you think about a Harley Three wheeler?
The throaty rumble of approximately two thousand Harley Davidson’s, echoed throughout downtown Springfield today. Mid-Ohio Harley Davidson, and several other sponsors, threw quite a biker party for the residents of Clark County and beyond, complete with bands, beer, food. and a classic car show.
A couple thousand bikers attended today’s event, on what was an absolutely perfect summer day. My son, Jonathan and I, had a great time drooling over some of the classic cars, listening to the bands, and chatting with many old acquaintances. Now this is what summer is all about!
Just a reminder that this evening is movie night at A.D. Farrow Co. Harley Davidson. The weather should be perfect! See you there.
A current buzz-word throughout today’s business world is “Branding”. Most define this word something like, “The words, actions, and symbols, used by a company to define itself, and to set itself apart from it’s competitors”. Basically, methods a company uses to build it’s “street creds”
Recently, while looking for some brand items for the particular type of bike I ride, I began to think about motorcycle manufacturers and which ones do the best job at branding their product. Here’s my list of the top 5.
2. Ducati
3. Honda
4. BMW
5. Triumph
These may not be the biggest, or the best, in their fields, but they have been successful at creating a strong image to help them sell their products. How would your list look different from mine?
Wednesday night means one thing around here, a ride to Jackass Flats, for a beer, and some bike watching! Tonight was a spectacular evening, and the place was more crowded than I have ever seen it. A couple thousand people were walking around everywhere! Getting in was tough, and getting out was going to be a nightmare.
After we spent some time checking out a few motorcycles, chatting with some friends, enjoying a beer and smoking a cigar, it was time to leave. I fired up the BMW and headed for the exit, but no one moved! The motor is so quiet no one heard me coming up behind them. Right then I had an epiphany! I realized the one thing a Harley Davidson is good for. ![]()

A cool and cloudy Sunday found me heading toward Cincinnati to visit a large Harley Davidson dealership that I have heard a great deal about. Heading South I took the backroads traveling at a leisurely pace. I arrived at the dealership just after 2:00 p.m. perused the inventory, spoke with several of the sales staff, and took a couple photos. The store was nice and the staff friendly. I am glad I made the trip.
After a light lunch I jumped on I-71 and cruised North heading home. It was one of those rides in which the bike was running perfectly, in fact, she seemed very nimble today almost as if she were glad to once again be running at full bore. By the time I arrived home I was a bit chilled and ready for a hot cup of coffee. It was fantastic to be out today, but honestly; I am ready to ride in the warmth again!
