At the same time, demolition and construction waste was used to produce 1 million tons of gravel, and tires were recycled to produce 26,000 tons of rubber products. The recycled gravel was then used in various road construction projects, while the reprocessed rubber was used in the construction of flooring and pavement tracks.

Last year, the authority produced about 2.7 million tons of recycled aggregate or gravel and about 37,000 tons of recycled fertilizer.
The authority now operates 17 centers, known as waste mines, for the collection of recyclable materials in Abu Dhabi City, Al Ain and the Al Dhafra region.
