Detec TruGround® Conductive Primer from Mule-Hide Products Co.
Mule-Hide Products Co.’s new Detec TruGround® Conductive Primer provides effective electronic leak detection (ELD) of conventional roofing assemblies quick and easy, helping to ensure that a roofing system is waterproof and free of breaches, seam holes and voids.
The patented water-based, liquid and electronically conductive medium is applied directly to the substrate using a brush or roller before the membrane adheres. Discontinuities in the membrane can then be found by applying an electric current to the surface of the membrane. Once applied, the primer allows ELD testing – using either low or high voltage test methods – for the life of the roofing system.
Detec TruGround Conductive Primer provides the peace of mind that a newly installed roofing system is waterproof and can be used for maintenance, warranty and forensic purposes. It is compatible with all single-layer membranes. It can be applied to any properly prepared horizontal or vertical non-conductive surface, including insulation, plywood, lumber, lightweight concrete and sheathing panels. It is suitable for use in fully bonded, mechanically fastened and ballasted roofing systems.
The primer dries quickly, typically in less than 30 minutes, and provides excellent adhesion. Friendly to contractors, it has a low VOC content, is non-flammable and solvent-free.
Detec TruGround Conductive Primer is available in 5 gallon pails. Each bucket covers approximately 1,250 square feet of roof area.
