

Policy Times Dhaka office: On May 9, Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. ITO Naoki visited Cumilla EPZ and met with Md. Khorshid Alam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Export Processing Zone Authority (BEPZA) and Md. Jillur Rahman, Executive Director of Cumilla EPZ. The ITO Ambassador also visited the factories of three Japanese companies (JB Network’s Co., Ltd. (containers and accessories for camera and containers for OA equipment), CAT GARMENT Co., Ltd. (formal clothing for children) and Seiko Precision Parts Bangladesh Ltd. .(Rubber Peripheral Parts of Various Machinery)) operating there.

During the meeting, Ambassador ITO discussed the various problems faced by Japanese companies operating in Bangladesh and asked for their cooperation in resolving them.
Company profiles and factory introductions were provided during the visit to the three Japanese companies, and they exchanged opinions on their products and the working environment of local employees.
