An anonymous Premier League club have ‘contacted’ Nottingham Forest over the potential signing of Joe Worrall, Nottinghamshire Live reports.
Worrall, 24, has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer.
Burnley and West Ham are believed to be longtime admirers of the center-back, with Norwich City, Crystal Palace and Brentford also linked.
Burnley had previously had a turned down offer for Worrall which has since been valued at over £ 10million – the Clarets recently signed Nathan Collins from Stoke City and Nottinghamshire Live write that “may mean they are unwilling to spend big ”on another center back this summer.
But Brentford has been linked since being promoted to the Premier League, with Norwich City tied in April (Sunday 24:05) and West Ham tied in the summer – a report claimed the Hammers believed they could land Worrall for just £ 8million. .
Worrall has been a prominent member of Forest’s starting lineup for four or more seasons now – not counting his 2018/19 loan to Rangers – and his loss would be a blow to Chris Hughton.
His team struggled on offense last season, but were surprisingly skillful defensively and Worrall was a big contributor.
But it looks like he could now be on the move and the only questions remain – which Premier League club has been in contact with the Reds?
It could be an exciting transfer to watch and if Forest does end up selling they are hoping to at least get a good deal for a good player.
